01 Two ways to present

Oral presentation

You have the room

A timed talk to a seated audience, followed by questions from a panel of specialists in your area. Best suited to completed work with a result you can defend.

Poster session

You have the conversation

Your work on display through a dedicated session, with reviewers and delegates coming to you. Better for work in progress, or a finding that rewards a closer look than a talk allows.

Either way

The committee has the final call

State your preference in the form. The Scientific Committee decides the final format, and abstracts scoring below the oral threshold are placed into poster sessions instead — so a poster slot is never a rejection.

02 How it runs

  1. 30 Sep – 16 Nov 2026

    Submit your abstract

Title, study design, background & aim, methods, results and conclusion — each with its own short word limit — plus your full author list. You do not need a finished paper, but you do need real data.

  2. After the deadline

    Blind review

Two evaluators score every abstract independently against a published rubric, without seeing author names or institutions. A score of 70/100 or higher qualifies for an oral slot; everything else moves to poster.

  3. 26–29 Nov 2026

    Present at the forum

Deliver your session in Jeddah, and take questions from the panel and the room.

  4. At the closing ceremony

    Awards

Research awards are presented across three tiers.

03 What you'll need

  • Your full author list. A principal investigator, plus every co-author's name and email — everyone listed must have reviewed and approved the abstract before you submit.
  • A specialty and study type. Pick from the surgical or medical specialty list, and say whether it's a cohort study, cross-sectional study, case report/series, or a systematic review & meta-analysis.
  • Six short, separately-limited fields. Title, study design, background & aim, methods, results and conclusion — each has its own word cap and a live counter in the form.
  • A presentation preference. Oral or poster, plus whether you're willing to be moved to the other format if not accepted as submitted.
  • Prior publication status, if any. Published work from 2023 onward is eligible — you'll confirm the year and link the journal (or a screenshot link, if it's still under revision).

04 Submission policies

  • Online only, in English. Abstracts submitted by email won't be accepted, and late submissions won't be considered once the window closes.
  • One accepted submission per person. You may submit more than one abstract, but only one may ultimately be accepted, as either an oral or a poster.
  • The presenting author is responsible for consent. Every co-author must have reviewed and approved the abstract before it's submitted — the form asks you to confirm this.
  • Published work must be 2023 or later. Earlier publications don't qualify, whether previously published or currently unpublished.
  • Conflicts of interest are declared up front. If you personally know a judge or committee member, the form asks you to name them at submission — not after.
